Providing respite, periods of rest and relief, from caregiving duties is an essential component to enhancing the health and wellbeing of caregivers. Enrollment at ElderHouse reduces the daily physical and sometimes emotional strain of caring for an aging relative. Respite can be offered 2 to 4 days per week.
ElderHouse is open weekdays from 8:30am to 3:30pm helping working caregivers retain employment. Knowing your loved one is safe at ElderHouse while you are at work can increase job productivity, reduce daily stress and provide peace of mind.
ElderHouse offers families the opportunity to meet other caregivers in a comfortable, relaxed and small group setting. Whether caring for an aging parent, spouse or close friend, this small group, facilitated by our staff social worker, can help participants meet daily challenges. Caregivers share experiences, learn from others and most importantly, realize that they are not alone.
