Reasons to Give:
Jack, client at ElderHouse 3 years A veteran of WWII, Jack proudly wears his (now ill-fitting) Army uniform to ElderHouse each Verteran's Day where he leads the entire group in a salute to the flag. Jack suffers from Parkinson's disease requiring assistance with many activities of daily living including dressing and personal care. Jack lives with his daughter Grace who is grateful that her Dad has a place where he is warmly welcomed each day and provides the excellent care that he deserves.
Mary, client at ElderHouse 18 months Tom and Mary have been married for 60 years, but Mary hardly recognizes Tom anymore. Three years ago Mary was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and has become completely dependent on Tom for her daily needs. Mary attends ElderHouse during the day, giving Tom the relief that enables him to care for her throughout the evening hours. Tom attends the monthly caregiver support group at ElderHouse where the support and friendship of others helps him to fulfill his dreams of keeping Mary home with him for as long as possible. |
